The way I see it, the one thing that has always, without a fault, brightened my day is cinnamon rolls/buns. So here’s a way to make them even better and just as delicious.
Cinnamon Roll Cake
It’s delicious and unforgettable. A deliciously rich cake that leaves your belly full but your taste buds crying for more. A workout video should go along with the recipe because every single time I make it I want to eat the whole thing. It’s a fairly simple one and great for holiday time. OR any time ^_^
Ingredients-
For the batter:
- 3 cups flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cup of milk
- 2 eggs (I use egg replacer because I’m allergic works the same)
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup butter – melted
Topping:
- 1 cup of butter – melted
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
Icing:
- 1 1/2 cups of Icing (confectioner’s) sugar
- 3 tbsp margarine (or butter) – melted
- 1/2 tsp of vanilla
- 3 tbsp milk
Instructions-
- Preheat oven at 350º
- In a large bowl mix all of the batter ingredients together
- Pour into a greased 9×13 pan
- Mix all the topping ingredients together separately until well combined.
- Pour topping evenly over the batter and use a knife to swirl the two together
- Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes
- Beat the icing ingredients together and then drizzle/coat over cake (even better if it’s still warm)
CONGRATS, you have now made a cinnamon swirl cake. Very rich and best in small portions, if you don’t serve it warm because you make it ahead of time like I usually do then just heat the piece/slice in the microwave for 10 seconds then eat.
I’d love to hear comments and changes anybody comes up with while making this recipe, have fun baking.
