Violet Ambrose is grappling with two major issues: Jay Heaton and her morbid secret ability. While the sixteen-year-old is confused by her new feelings for her best friend since childhood, she is more disturbed by her “power” to sense dead bodies—or at least those that have been murdered. Since she was a little girl, she has felt the echoes that the dead leave behind in the world… and the imprints that attach to their killers.

Violet has never considered her strange talent to be a gift; it mostly just led her to find the dead birds her cat had tired of playing with. But now that a serial killer has begun terrorizing her small town, and the echoes of the local girls he’s claimed haunt her daily, she realizes she might be the only person who can stop him.

Despite his fierce protectiveness over her, Jay reluctantly agrees to help Violet on her quest to find the murderer—and Violet is unnerved to find herself hoping that Jay’s intentions are much more than friendly. But even as Violet is getting closer and closer to discovering a killer.. she might become his next prey.

Anime Review: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

Fmab-posterIn this world there exist alchemists, people who study and perform the art of alchemical transmutation—to manipulate objects and transform one object into another. They are bounded by the basic law of alchemy: in order to gain something you have to sacrifice something of the same value.
The main character is the famous alchemist Edward Elric—also known as the Fullmetal Alchemist—who almost lost his little brother, Alphonse, in an alchemical accident. Edward managed to attach his brother’s soul to a large suit of armor. While he did manage to save his brother’s life, he paid the terrible price of his limbs.
To get back what they’ve lost, the brothers embark on a journey to find the Philosopher’s Stone that is said to amplify the powers of an alchemist enormously; however, on the way, they start uncovering a conspiracy that could endanger the entire nation, and they realize the misfortunes brought upon by the Philosopher’s Stone.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a re-telling of the story from the manga’s point of view.

Oreo Truffles Recipe

oreo+truffles31+copy.jpg (1600×1067)Oreo. Truffles. I am being 110% serious these are some of the most delicious things I have ever made. I’ve also never had a truffle…I don’t know why, maybe I’ll try a store one. I’ll probably still like these better. The best part? The ingredient list is so incredibly short and simple. It’s so simple and any mess is a fun clean up because it’s delicious. A win win, so let’s start. These things are worth a rant and a tummy growl and spontaneous combustion, if you’re in the mood for that.

Pineapple Angel Food Cake

1324060I don’t remember when I first tried this recipe (but it had to been years ago), and it still turned out amazing! Keep in mind that I couldn’t bake to save my life until just over a year and a half ago, so for this recipe to actually have been good on my first attempt, it must have been foolproof.

As far as cake recipes goes, this is probably the easiest recipe you’ll find. The cake is ready to go into the oven within minutes of starting. It takes so little prep time because there are only two ingredients: a can of crushed pineapple and an angel food cake mix, therefore it is the perfect dessert if you don’t have time to make anything else. As for the cake itself, I can only say good things about it. It is light and fluffy like a normal angel food cake, however it tastes so much better (in my opinion) because the pineapple just adds to the cake.
