Guys, this week I introduce another old favourite! Drum Roll please……. Abandon!!!!
On a slightly related note, who’s all watched Princess Diaries? Yeah, stupid question, who hasn’t? Well, you guys know the book its originated from? The one that is not:
- or haunting
Yeah? Well imagine the exact opposite of that book. The one that is all of the above. There you have it people: Abandon.
New from #1 New York Times bestselling author Meg Cabot, a dark, fantastical story about this world . . . and the underworld.
Though she tries returning to the life she knew before the accident, Pierce can’t help but feel at once a part of this world, and apart from it. Yet she’s never alone . . . because someone is always watching her. Escape from the realm of the dead is impossible when someone there wants you back.
But now she’s moved to a new town. Maybe at her new school, she can start fresh. Maybe she can stop feeling so afraid.
Only she can’t. Because even here, he finds her. That’s how desperately he wants her back. She knows he’s no guardian angel, and his dark world isn’t exactly heaven, yet she can’t stay away . . . especially since he always appears when she least expects it, but exactly when she needs him most.
But if she lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself back in the one place she most fears: the Underworld.
Now my only question is how the heck did these two books come from the same author!?! Meg Cabot, you have some skills girl!
Abandon is a phenomenal book that takes a breath-taking twist on Greek mythology!
The book stars the lovely Pierce as she moves to a new town with her mother so that they can start over after multiple ‘incidents’ at her last town. The only problem? This new town also happens to be an opening to the underworld. Huh. Aren’t we lucky? But here’s the thing, we totally are, because now Pierce just so happens to get more quality time with the Lord of the Underworld!
Meet John Hayden, also known as Hades, commonly referred to as Lord of the Underworld. John is quiet, mysterious, still stuck in the 1600s, and he is also hot as hell. See what I did there?
Side note: I should probably just give up with this whole Friday Favourites, and just introduce Book Boyfriend Friday, cause honestly, that’s pretty much what this is 😉
Abandon is a book that balances action/romance, and even a bit of suspense as you get ready for the bold plot twist that will totally satisfy any YA reader.
See you at the bookstore,
