What if they are in fact humanity’s only hope of survival? Because the real enemy is coming. And it’s more terrifying than anything the world has ever seen.

I recently talked about this book in my last (and first) Library Haul. I spoke of picking up this book because it reminded me of Obsidian. The summery seemed to have foreshadowed a love interest that isn’t human, far from the nice boy next door, yet still has a soft spot for the main character. Classic Daemon Black. Well I hope I didn’t get you too excited, cause this was no Lux doppelganger *Sigh*. Though I have to say, I still really enjoyed the book.

Undertow is an easy read that contains no dull moments. Lyric, the main character, is your typical Katniss Everdeen: strong, brave, and protective of her family and friends. I often found the sacrifices Lyric takes to assure that her best friend Bex stays out of an abusive home really admirable.

I must ask though, is it in the YA author’s hand book that every good book has to include at least one tragic death? If so, let me tell you, I don’t approve.

In the end, despite that, I totally recommend this book.
