This is for the romance fans, who swoon over new characters falling in love, who cheer or squeal when your OTP kisses for the first time. This is for the ones who compare boys from real life to the boys they read about and to those who’d rather have fictional boyfriends than real boyfriends. This is for the ships and the fandoms. This is for the girls and boys who are in love with love.
*I updated this list with YA 2016 novels so go check those out here!!*

We all have our favourite kissing scenes from our favourite books. But first kiss scenes are momentum. They change the relationship of our characters, and they are built from tension, angst and ANTICIPATION. Here are some my top first kiss scenes, in no particular order.
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead: Dimitri and Rose
When Rose and Dimitri finally kiss, they are under a spell. The after-kiss scenes though… Made me what to curl up into a ball. THE FEELS.
“Swallowing, I asked again, ‘Do you think I’m pretty?’ He regarded me with utter seriousness, like he always did. ‘I think you’re beautiful.’ ‘Beautiful?’ ‘You are so beautiful, it hurts me sometimes.’ His lips moved to mine, gentle at first, and then hard and hungry.”
Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick: Patch and Nora
“ ‘You should go,’ I breathed. ‘You should definitely go.’
‘Go here?’ His mouth was on my shoulder. ‘Or here?” It moved up my neck.’ “
But when they actually kiss.
“I felt his lips come against mine so hard he stopped whatever name I’d been about to call him from coming out. His hands dropped to my shoulders, skimmed down my arms, and came to rest at the small of my back. Little shivers of panic and pleasure shot through me.”
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout: Daemon and Katy
Ah. The famous laptop scene. Daemon will always be bae.
“His hands slid around my head, pulling me back to his mouth. There was a cracking sound in the house. A fissure of electricity shot through the room. Something smoked. I didn’t care.”
NOTE: You guys can read this scene in both Daemon and Katy’s POV! Even better!!
Iron King by Julie Kagawa: Ash and Meghan
When reading this for the first time, I was WAITING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!! The timing couldn’t have been any better since it reflects Ash’s guilt of his previous lover’s death and made him realize that he has feelings for Meghan. This pretty much sums up the time when the hero needs a little wake up call and what better wake up call when Meghan almost gets killed?
“I took his hand, tugging him off the post while glancing nervously at the frozen dragon. “Let’s get out of here. I think that thing just blinked at us.” His fingers tightened on mine and pulled me forward. Startled and overbalanced, I looked up at him, and then he was kissing me.”
Us book nerds are a very opinionated bunch. We either like a book, or we don’t, we ship a couple, or we don’t, we break down crying at the end of a book, or we can’t wait for it to be finished.
Today I’m here to explore with you one more controversy in our little cranny of the woods:
hard-cover books vs audio books
I’ve been a hard-cover kind of girl since I was little, I mean we all know that book nerds get high off of sniffing those books. Oh, don’t tell me you haven’t tried it, that stuff is good. There is no better smell in the world than the smell of a fresh book!
Anyways, even though hard-cover books are by far the best, I’ve recently been giving audio books a try.
I know the horrors! “Audio books aren’t real books!” “keep those horrible things away from me!” “You don’t even deserve to be called a true book nerd!”
Keep your nerd panties on people, you haters are the whole reason I’m here. Yep, today I’ve decided that I’m going to inform you all on the truth about audio books coming from a very true book nerd herself! Hopefully by reading this post you can see the pros and cons of audio books and together we can get rid book stigma!
Gosh, that was cheesy.
There are a few things that usually stay similar about kickass shounen anime that make an otaku know exactly why they’re an otaku. These things are how you’re usually going to know that you have a sweet anime on your hands.
It’s delicious and unforgettable. A deliciously rich cake that leaves your belly full but your taste buds crying for more. A workout video should go along with the recipe because every single time I make it I want to eat the whole thing. It’s a fairly simple one and great for holiday time. OR any time ^_^
History has a way of repeating itself. In the Sunken City that was once Paris, all who oppose the new revolution are being put to the blade. Except for those who disappear from their prison cells, a red-tipped rook feather left in their place. Is the mysterious Red Rook a savior of the innocent or a criminal?
Meanwhile, across the sea in the Commonwealth, Sophia Bellamy’s arranged marriage to the wealthy René Hasard is the last chance to save her family from ruin. But when the search for the Red Rook comes straight to her doorstep, Sophia discovers that her fiancé is not all he seems. Which is only fair, because neither is she.
As the Red Rook grows bolder and the stakes grow higher, Sophia and René find themselves locked in a tantalizing game of cat and mouse.
Another one-shot once again with characters from Naruto, except this one is AU-modern fic. Enjoy ^-^
Itachi and Kisame walked side by side, silent through the streets. The only sound was the constant patter of droplets of rain drenching the city. It filled the world around them with a calming sound that echoed off the buildings.
Kisame watched Itachi beside him carefully as the shorter man lifted his head to the downpour. Water fell steadily from his cheeks, down his chin soaking him thoroughly. Kisame could almost believe he was crying, lest the raven haired Uchiha would never do so in front of prying eyes. Itachi didn’t even seem to react to the city around him.
Or so he thought.
“I never pegged you for a mother hen,” Itachi remarked lightly his onyx eyes shifting towards Kisame for a moment before focusing back on the sky. Kisame’s reply was a heavy snort, shaking his head sending water flying from his hair to join the rain.
“Not in my nature,” he remarked. A brief pause and Kisame couldn’t help looking back at where they’d come, he let the words slip, “Are you sure you shouldn’t just stay there, at least for a night?” The dark-haired man’s reply was immediate in a firm shake of his head making Kisame grunt and curse softly. His blue eyes shifted back behind them at the building. It loomed above them and its windows glinted off the remaining light from the evening sun. Everything about it screamed sterile even from the outside and truthfully Kisame hated the look of it. But the way Itachi’s face, even after just being given meds, held a faint sickly pallor sent a deep shiver through the older man’s bones. He couldn’t see perfectly with the lack of light and he knew Itachi was naturally pale, but never this much so. And a hospital or not, they could help Itachi more than Kisame could hope to, first aid not being his strong suit. In all truth Kisame had always been better at sending people to the hospital more often than not.
Even so, Kisame wouldn’t argue against Itachi.
“What exactly did the doc say about how much longer treatment will last?” Kisame finally queried, the question tumbling out at long last. Since, doctors had some stupid, ridiculous issue with letting people know about others’ well beings.
Itachi bumped lightly against Kisame’s arm, sensing the anger with his normal ease. The reply was just as short and simple, “It’s hard to say, my hearts been working hard already. It’s a lot of healing to be done.” His onyx eyes shifted to Kisame and paused before sending him a reassuring look, “No worries, Kisame, I’ll be fine just like always.”
Step 1: Make a blog
Step 2: Make an intro….I guess
Step 4: Run to Shayla for help–sorry
Step 5: Feel bad, I guess, kinda, sorry.
Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school… or at home.

But she could never have guessed the truth- that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.
Though we called this blog meers2review, we definitely talked about how we would be doing more than just reviewing things. You, however were not there for that little conversation, so I really hope I’m not throwing you all off today by introducing the first post about that glorious little thing that keeps us all motivated everyday. That’s right, FOOD.
I am a food lover at heart and I’ve been baking since as long as I can remember. Since then, I’ve been constantly trying out new and exciting food combinations. Obviously some of these combinations have turned out really really bad (I learned pretty quickly that lemon and chocolate don’t go together; that was a sad batch of cupcakes) but others, like the ones I’m going to show you, have turned out really really good!

Recipe Number One!
Gather one apple, thinly sliced, half an avocado, mashed, chicken strips, and pita bread.
Cut the pita bread in half. Take the avocado and spread it on the inside of the bread. This will give an amazing creamy taste and texture.
Evenly add the apple and chicken slices
Tip: For bit more jazz add some lemon juice to the avocado!
