The creative writing teacher, the delivery guy, the local Starbucks baristas, his best friend, her roommate, and the squirrel in the park all have one thing in common—they believe that Gabe and Lea should get together. Lea and Gabe are in the same creative writing class. They get the same pop culture references, order the same Chinese food, and hang out in the same places. Unfortunately, Lea is reserved, Gabe has issues, and despite their initial mutual crush, it looks like they are never going to work things out.  But somehow even when nothing is going on, something is happening between them, and everyone can see it. Their creative writing teacher pushes them together. The baristas at Starbucks watch their relationship like a TV show. Their bus driver tells his wife about them. The waitress at the diner automatically seats them together. Even the squirrel who lives on the college green believes in their relationship.

Surely Gabe and Lea will figure out that they are meant to be together….

Five “Different Little” Stars

I have no words on how much I love this book. Not only is it different from any YA romance I’ve read but the story is beautiful and captivating.

I picked up this book and finished it in a morning.

Lea and Gabe are meant to be with each other…at least that’s what everyone else thinks. I think because I read their story from the viewpoint of people in their lives made this story more real and sweet. You never get Lea and Gabe’s POVs but Hall cleverly written their thoughts from the perspective of others. I can’t even explain how much I love this book!!!

The characters were interesting and the viewpoints of inanimate objects(Bench, and Squirrel) were funny and effective.

In the beginning, I thought I would have a hard time understanding Lea and Gabe’s story from characters that weren’t THEM, but did Sandy Hall prove me wrong!! The different viewpoints were intricately entwined together and reading how Lea and Gabe dealt with their feelings for each other from the opinions of their friends, family and everyday strangers was brilliant. Lea and Gabe were so awkward and cute, and Hall portrayed the idea of first love perfectly in their story.

This is so different and will forever change YA romance for me!!

This book, this story, is a work of art!

This is THE book for romance lovers and I guarantee it will be a worthwhile read.
